What are Pinterest Ads and a Pinterest ads account
Pinterest Ads are ordinary Pins that you pay to show to more people: in the home feed, in category feeds and in search results. People come to Pinterest to plan purchases, look for ideas and save products, so a promoted Pin meets a user who is already looking for something to buy or try.
A Pinterest ads account (also called a Pinterest ad account or Pinterest advertising account) lives inside a business account. One business account can hold up to 50 ad accounts, and access for colleagues and partners is managed in Business Manager through roles and permissions. Campaigns, budgets, billing and reporting all sit at the ad account level in Ads Manager.
Pinterest reported 640 million monthly active users in Q2 2026, with 106 million in the US and Canada, where most of the platform's ad revenue is concentrated. Advertisers in 40+ countries can connect directly; in other regions Pinterest works through local advertising partners.
Pinterest agency ad account: how access works
A Pinterest agency ad account is an ad account run inside an agency's Business Manager structure: the agency sets up billing, holds the admin side and gives you access to launch and manage campaigns. Pinterest does not publish a separate account type with special limits for agencies — the value of an agency setup is in the ready structure, centralised payments and someone on your side who knows the platform.
| Element | What it is in Pinterest | How it works with AdsRiver |
|---|---|---|
| Business account | The top level: profile, Business Manager, up to 50 ad accounts | Set up on the agency side and ready for your campaigns |
| Ad account | Campaigns, budgets, billing country and currency | Created for your project with the right country and currency |
| Partner access | One business requests access to another by business ID and ad account IDs (up to 10 at a time); the owner approves | Used to connect accounts and assets between AdsRiver and your business |
| Roles and permissions | Admin, campaign and reporting roles assigned in Business Manager | You get the role you need to launch and analyse campaigns |
| Billing | Card billing with thresholds, plus prepaid and monthly invoice options | You top up through AdsRiver via bank transfer or PayPal (prepayment, B2B contract, invoice) |
A note on wording: a Pinterest agency partner in Pinterest's own terms is a company in its partner programmes or a regional advertising partner. Partner access in Business Manager is something else — a standard way for an agency and an advertiser to work in the same ad account. AdsRiver gives you an agency ad account and access, ready for spend.
Who a Pinterest agency account is for
- E-commerce and visual brands. Fashion, home, beauty, food, DIY and gifts — categories where people search, save and plan purchases on Pinterest.
- Brands entering the US, Canada and Europe. The markets where Pinterest's ad audience and monetisation are strongest.
- Affiliate marketing and media buying. A Pinterest account for affiliate marketing works for offers that fit the platform's rules: clear landing pages, honest claims, product-led creatives.
- Performance agencies. Run client campaigns from agency ad accounts with top-ups in one place instead of collecting cards from each client.
- Teams scaling across GEOs. Separate ad accounts per market or currency, added on request as spend grows.
GEO: the US, Canada, Europe and other markets
Targeting is set at campaign level, so one Pinterest ads account can run several countries. The billing country and currency, however, are chosen when the ad account is created and cannot be changed later — a different currency means a new ad account. That is why we agree your markets before setup.
Pinterest supports billing in USD, CAD, GBP, EUR and a number of other currencies. For campaigns in the EU we can set up a EUR account; for the US and Canada — USD or CAD. Tell the manager your GEOs in the brief and we will match the account to them.

How to get started
Getting an agency account takes a few steps; creating a Pinterest ads account on your own follows the same logic, only without a manager.
- Send a request
Message the AdsRiver bot in Telegram with your vertical, target markets, landing pages and planned monthly spend.
- Agree the setup
We confirm the billing country and currency (they cannot be changed later), the fee (on request) and payment method (bank transfer or PayPal (prepayment, B2B contract, invoice)).
- Get access
You receive access to the ad account in Ads Manager with the right role. You log in with your own Pinterest business login — no shared passwords.
- First top-up
You top up through AdsRiver; the balance is ready for your first campaigns.
- Build campaigns
Install the Pinterest tag, upload creatives, choose objectives and targeting.
- Ad review and launch
Pinterest reviews ads before they run, usually within 24 hours. Once approved, the campaign goes live.
Pinterest top-up, billing and minimum deposit
With AdsRiver, a Pinterest top-up is simple: you pay via bank transfer or PayPal (prepayment, B2B contract, invoice), the funds go to your ad account, and you track spend in Ads Manager. Minimum top-up — from $500, service fee — on request.
Pinterest's own billing works differently from many networks. On a self-serve account you are charged when spend reaches a billing threshold or on the 1st of the month, whichever comes first. The threshold starts small (for example $50) and grows as the account builds history. Custom thresholds of $50, $100, $250, $500 or $1,000 are available for USD accounts only.
| Question | With AdsRiver | Pinterest Ads rules |
|---|---|---|
| How to pay | bank transfer or PayPal (prepayment, B2B contract, invoice) | Credit and debit cards, Pay by Bank, Pix and other local methods; cards from 60+ countries |
| Not accepted | — | Prepaid cards and PayPal |
| Minimum deposit | from $500 | No official minimum deposit; billing threshold starts small and grows |
| Other billing options | Top-ups through the agency account | Prepaid billing and monthly invoice billing exist; Pinterest sets who qualifies |
| Currency | Agreed at setup | USD, CAD, GBP, EUR and others; chosen at creation, cannot be changed |
So what is the Pinterest ads minimum deposit? Pinterest does not set one. What matters is your daily budget and the billing threshold; with an agency account, the only minimum is our top-up minimum of from $500.
Send your vertical, GEOs and planned spend — the manager will confirm terms and set up your Pinterest agency account.
Get an accountAd review and Pinterest advertising guidelines
Every promoted Pin goes through ad review, usually within 24 hours. After you edit a rejected ad, it is reviewed again. Pinterest's Advertising guidelines cover prohibited and restricted categories, landing pages and targeting — and they apply to affiliate campaigns as much as to brands.
- Prohibited and restricted content. Some categories are banned outright, others run only under conditions. Check your vertical with the manager before launch.
- Landing pages. The page must work, match the Pin and give the user what the ad promises. Broken links and mismatched offers are common reasons for rejection.
- Honest claims. No exaggerated results, misleading prices or before / after promises.
- Targeting. Targeting must follow Pinterest's rules for sensitive categories and audiences.
- Pinterest ads for affiliate marketing. Use a landing page that adds value — a review, comparison or product page — rather than a bare redirect, and keep creatives product-led.
Pinterest ad account suspended: what to do
Pinterest can reject individual ads, give them limited approval or remove an advertiser from its advertising tools when it believes the rules were broken. A suspended ad account is not the same as a blocked personal profile — the process is different.
- Find the reason
Check the notice in Ads Manager: which ad, which policy, which landing page.
- Fix the cause
Change the creative, the landing page or the targeting so that it meets the guidelines.
- Appeal
Submit an appeal in the product or through the Help Center with the reason and the URL concerned.
- Work with the manager
Your AdsRiver manager helps prepare the appeal and plan next steps for your campaigns.

Usually up to 24 hours. After you edit a rejected ad, it goes through review again. If an ad is rejected, appeal with the reason and the URL — the manager helps prepare it.

Yes, if the ads and landing pages follow Pinterest's Advertising guidelines: honest claims, a useful landing page that matches the Pin and an allowed category. Discuss your offer with the manager before launch.
Which countries can I target?
Pinterest's audience is strongest in the US and Canada, with large audiences in Europe and other regions. Targeting is set per campaign; the account currency is chosen at setup, so list your GEOs in the brief.
